It's
not the television that is destroying our youth. They say that the television is destroying our youth. All the filth and the violence just can't be good for our kids. Right, the filth and the violence can't be good for our kids but if parents let them watch it it's not the television's fault. It's the parents'. Some parents say "Well I don't have time to monitor what my kids are watching!" What is more important here? If one can't make time for their children, one shouldn't have had any. Plain and simple. Kids require A LOT of time. Yes, the parent(s) should be watching over them and not letting the TV do their job. Yes, their are single parents out their that have a genuine problem with time because they have to work long hours to support the children. There is nothing wrong with being a single parent, just make the child understand that he or she can't watch TV alone until they are old enough to know what is bad to watch and what is good to watch. Let's face it. There is a lot of stuff on the 100's of channels now available that kids should not see. There's still a lot of good programming left however. It is the parents' responsibility to see that if the child watches TV that he or she is watching something suitable. Let's rephrase that to make it clear. You brought the child into this world that is going to hell in a hand basket and it's your responsibility to see that the child doesn't go with it. There are a lot of bad influences out there and the parent has a long, hard, uphill battle to keep the child free of them. --Foamy Dog Suggested reading: We found a great related article on FredOnEverything.net called Growing Up Dumber Than Anvils: Coma In The Schools check it out for some real insight.
